But it has not changed and we are still able to “Pop up” unannounced. We still “drop in” to visit or say “hi” because it is welcomed and has been for over 40 years! Yet, if at any given moment my Auntie wanted to change this rule, it would be her right to do so because it is her house. In fact, my Granny’s house is the “pop up” house even though it is now inhabited by my Aunt. If you are a young twenty-something in Miami, I would advise you to eat here, and if not, I would suggest dining else where.Okay, so let me tell you about a pet peeve of mine…people showing up at my house unannounced! Now I know for some people this is not really a problem. The food needs drastic improvement, is overpriced, the service is average, and I think that the actual restaurant and night club should be better separated. For my overall experience at DBYCCML, I would rate it about 2.5 stars. Had we had known about this in advance, we probably would have dined in a more child friendly restaurant. I realize that this is typical night club behavior, but it was just an unpleasant sight to see with children around. We also witnessed several couples, er, really "getting to know each other" (for lack of a better term), which we weren't really keen on.

Therefore, we noticed many individuals who were dressed in ways that you wouldn't necessarily find in Disney World, for instance.

What we didn't realize about DBYCCML, is that it is also a popular night club. Sure, they have a kids menu with multiple options on it (my 12 year old sister said that what she ate tasted very good), but when it comes to the environment.DBYCCML is not ideal for children under ages 13 or 14. There is one other general thing I would like to mention: DBYCCML is not the most child friendly restaurant out there.

Another thing we could agree on was that all of our dishes were drastically overpriced my Dad felt "deal-remorse" for two days after our visit. Also, the bread that was served to us was so delicious that we ordered multiple orders of it. One thing we could agree on was that appatizers we ordered were extremely good. However, my Younger Sister, Aunt, and Grandma enjoyed their dishes. My Mom and Dad felt the same way about what they ordered. It was served to me undercooked, and its taste ultimately made me want to rip my taste buds out. I ordered the "I can't believe its not pasta" dish as my main entree, which consisted of Zucchini al Telefono, fresh Mozzarella, and cherry tomato sauce. I dined here with six people, and only three were satisfied with their dishes I was not one of them. On the flip side of things, the ladies bathroom attendant, Michelle, was absolutely awesome her funny, upbeat personality made our entire visit (she was the only employee who provided us excellent service, in other words.) Then we have the food. When this happened, the hostesses (checking people in) did absolutely nothing to help her, nor did they ask if she was okay they simply stared at her, and pursed their lips to obtain their laughters. Our food came out in a timely manner, but, when we first arrived at the restaurant, my Mom tripped over one of the wooden chairs in the main lobby, and was somewhat hurt. However, almost everything else about DBYCCML is less than average. The restaurant itself is quite trendy and pretty, for it truly represents the vibrant vibes of Miami. After searching through many restaurants on Trip Advisor, we decided to eat our one dinner in Miami here (at DBYCCML). We were in Miami for a single night last week, because we were going on a Cruise leaving from there the following day. The bill was not an unpleasant surprise either. It's small enough to be intimate, there's enough ambience to make you feel as though are somewhere out and the staff and managers all looked after us. Perfectly seared and came exactly as advertised. I shortlisted two from the $35 menu and asked the waitress to pick for me on the advice of one of my colleagues and selected a braised pork dish. The choice is varied but not overwhelming. It's tough to categorize this menu - much like south Florida, there are Cuban, Southern US and Mexican influences throughout. We were seated (a group of 10) upstairs on a round table and the menu was based on the price points - i.e. Rooms to the side and a stairwell leading up give the appearance of somewhere more intimate than it actually is. The restaurant has a house/homely appeal when you walk in - even though there is a terrace/patio that you walk through. There is a lot of choice in this area and we weren't disappointed. Fell upon Dolores while trying to find a restaurant in the Bickell area on a Tuesday night.
